Lotus (Padma)

Symbolizing divinity and purity, Lotus or Padma is God’s favourite flower. A blooming padma represents the presence of consciousness. Lotus is an auspicious flower in Hindu tradition for its association with connecting with a divine power and imparting enlightenment in the human race. It also reflects purity and spirituality in a person with the way it blooms. Offering a lotus to Gods and Goddesses is believed to enrich the inner potential in a person, energise them, bring peace and rid them of sins. This flower is offered to the idols while performing puja on auspicious days or even festivities.
